Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. We do not disclose the message outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when available
- Browser name and version
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services use them to measure traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, though disabling them may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical faults
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
- Routing a search to the partner that handles it
- Measuring which resources visitors use and where improvements are needed
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Cedar County guidance identifies official sources such as the Sheriff, County Court, District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal-record file, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy policies, rather than this policy, govern data entered in their tools. A partner determines how it stores, uses, or shares that information. Review its terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Cedar County offices, Nebraska agencies, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity on more than one website to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may still be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and operation
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Search partners processing a query submitted through their tool
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal authority
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Where it applies, the Nebraska Data Privacy Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§87-1101 through 87-1130, may provide rights regarding personal data. Nebraska's Public Records Act and Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 govern separate issues involving government records and criminal-history dissemination. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Opt out of certain covered processing
- Request deletion of covered personal data
- Ask for access to covered data we hold
- Seek correction of inaccurate covered information
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revision will be posted here and marked with a new effective date, so visitors can review the current version.
Effective date: July 31, 2026
